Mission: Pants

In February it was my mission to find a great fitting pants pattern. I believed if I tried enough patterns I would eventually find one that fit me out of the envelope. So far…not the case!

All the pants pictured here are wearable muslins (using cheap stash fabric or even a cotton twill home dec!)

Bottom of the pile, V2948 with princess seams down front and back (this is a Sandra Betzina – there is a complete tutorial purchased on Bluprint about all kinds of fitting issues).

Above that are the B6331 Lisette pants which I love. I made 2 muslins (each of which I think I ripped out every stitch 5 times!).

Above that in khaki suiting are my first pair of Megan Nielsen Flint Pants – I still can’t decide if I’m a cropped wide leg pant wearer (I’ll get back to you on that). I did change the pant (using their tutorial) to remove the front pleats, making a flat front which I think looks better on me.

And on the top of the stack are Liesl+Co Hollywood Trousers (I tapered the legs).

Once I have “on body” photos I’ll chat more about fit and detailed alterations I made to each.
